I got the uke music, looks great! I think my companion thinks I'm weird because I have so many pictures of Jack. Its starting to kind of look like a shrine on my desk, we should make little ceramic statues of him. That would be a nice touch.
Ny, Ny sounds awesome. That is exciting news. Mandarin speaking....so he'll be in China town a lot?
It has been an interesting/busy/exhausting/ really good week. I'm not sure if I mentioned this already but this years standards for our mission are to baptize weekly and invite 25 people a day to hear about the gospel/ask for referrals. Well, it has been pretty hard but have really been trying to meet those 25 people. The result of our efforts has been pretty awesome. Last week we found 7 new investigators and received two referrals from the elders in Katy. We've only been able to sit down and have a 'formal' lesson with two of the seven but I have faith that each person we found will progress.
One the new investigators, Erel, is eighteen and is really seeking for the truth. We taught him the Restoration on his porch and he really enjoyed it. He said it just makes sense to him; I love it when investigators say that. Anyway, since he is 18 he doesn't technically need permission from his parents but we're not really sure how they feel about us being there. We might try to teach him at a youths house. I think he said his parents are baptist but he doesn't feel like it is right for him.
We also taught the Restoration to a 13 yr old, Katie Jones and she is awesome. She is friends with one of the young women and she used to go to church with her aunt who is LDS. We set a baptism date for April 19th with her but we definitely have to get her parents permission. I'm not sure how easy that will be, we've only met her step dad. Anyway, she is really sweet and I think she just wants some more stability/spirituality in her life.
We're going to go see Susanna tonight and we're pretty excited. She is super great. We didn't meet with her last week because she was busy trying to get homework done before spring break but she texted almost everyday.
I'm definitely the most tired I've been since I started my mission. Sister Heaps is super great and she likes to be obedient, which is nice b/c I like being obedient too. She is very thorough when it comes to daily planning so we will often be planning till after 10 pm. I think I need to be more patient because I just like to get things done quick. But really, she is awesome, I hope her Visa doesn't come.
Texas is a great place, I love it here. Oh, also, I was thinking, I have been out for over 5 months. Can you believe that? I don't know where the time has gone.
I love y'all.
